Meet Meryl and Brad

First, a bit about me and my husband. We live in Upstate NY. He is the local representative for Allen Organs, and sells and installs digital and/or pipe organs to Church's and individuals. He loves what he does. I am an attorney for New York State in the Office of Children and Family Services. I also wrote 4 children's books about Jordy the Jaguar, a YA mystery called The Scorpio Society, and one adult mystery compilation called Murder and Merlot.

We have two children (I am their step-mom and so proud). One is a veterinarian, and the other is a pharmacist. They live in Texas and Massachusetts respectively.

Four years ago, I started looking at vacation/retirement options. I was convinced it was going to be a lake house. I dragged Brad all over the place.

Around May of 2019, I saw an episode of Beachfront Bargain Hunt featuring Cape Charles. I was utterly fascinated with the small town vibe. Asked hubby if he ever heard of it? Of course, he says. It makes sense as he lived a long time in Roanoke Va. Somehow I convinced him to look at a cute cottage on Silver Beach. That didn't pan out, but our agent took us to Bay Creek. The rest is history. We bought a lot in the Colony--hoping to build "eventually."

A year later, still obsessed with Cape Charles, we bought the townhouse in the New Quarter that has become Seas the Day. That was so successful we decided the time was right to build on our lot in the Colony. We broke ground last month! That will also be a vacation rental called "Day Dream Believer."

Our goal is to be there full time in three years. I am so ready to be a part of this amazing community. People are friendly, the setting is beautiful, and the sunsets are amazing. I am very grateful for the blessings of Cape Charles.
